Guyana Jaguars opening batsman Trevon Griffith has tested positive for the coronavirus, thereby rendering him unavailable for the upcoming Regional Super50.

The left-hander was named in the 15-man Guyana Jaguars squad, which was released last week, and he also participated in the three practice games thereafter.

    Kemol Savory

News Room Sport was able to confirm that wicketkeeper/batsman Kemol Savory has been named as Griffith’s replacement.

The Guyana Jaguars players will do a second and final test later this week before departing for Antigua on Saturday.

Upon arrival in Antigua, the Jaguars will undergo a two-day room isolation, after which they will do a third test on February 2 and a fourth test on February 6, between which players will be allowed to practice as a group.

The CG Insurance Super50 Cup will take place from February 7-27 in Antigua.

Guyana Jaguars: Chandrapaul Hemraj, Kemol Savory, Christopher Barnwell, Leon Johnson (Captain), Shimron Hetmyer (Vice-captain), Assad Fudadin, Keon Joseph, Romario Shepherd, Kevin Sinclair, Ramaal Lewis, Nial Smith, Gudakesh Motie, Anthony Bramble, Akshaya Persaud and Tevin Imlach.
