34 new COVID cases, 33 more recoveries
The Ministry of Health on Wednesday recorded 34 new COVID-19 cases from 262 tests, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 7, 380.
Region Four recorded majority of the new cases with 21; Regions One, Five and Ten, each recorded one new case, Region Three recorded seven new cases and Region Seven recorded three new cases.
Thirty-three new recoveries were also recorded, pushing the overall number of recoveries to 6, 488. The ministry earlier announced Guyana’s 175th COVID-19 death – a 65-year-old male from Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice).
There are 663 patients in home isolation, 49 patients are in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
