58 new COVID-19 cases recorded

A total of 58 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Friday from 352 tests, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 7,528.
The majority of infections have been recorded in Region Four, which saw 46 new cases. Regions Six and Three recorded 5 and 3 new cases, respectively, while Region Ten recording two new cases. Regions One and Five recorded one new case each. Regions Two, Seven, Eight and Nine recorded no new cases.
To date, 6,541 persons have recovered from the virus and 175 have died.
There are 764 patients in home isolation, 42 persons in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
