24 new COVID cases from 220 tests


Guyana on Tuesday recorded 24 new COVID-19 cases from 220 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases since March last year to 7, 678.

Regions One and Five each recorded one new case, while Regions Three and Eight recorded four new cases; Region Four recorded eight new cases and Region Six recorded six new cases.

A total of 46 new recoveries were also recorded, taking the overall recoveries to 6, 681.  To date, 177 persons have died from the dreaded virus.

There are 758 patients in home isolation, 57 patients are in institutional isolation and five patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
