36 new COVID-19 cases, 81 new recoveries

Guyana on Wednesday recorded 36 new COVID-19 cases from 647 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases since March last year to 7, 714.

Regions One and Seven each recorded one new case, while Region Four recorded 22 new cases. Region Three recorded four new cases, Region Five recorded two new cases, while six new cases were recorded in Region Ten.

A total of 81 new recoveries were also recorded, taking the overall recoveries to 6, 762.  To date, 177 persons have died from the dreaded virus.

There are 712 patients in home isolation, 58 patients are in institutional isolation and five patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
