A Caribbean Airlines (CAL) flight bound for Toronto, Canada from Guyana, is now delayed due to mechanical issues.
The News Room was reliably informed that the 49 passengers and crew who were already on board at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) are all safe and have been transported to the Princess Ramada Hotel at Providence, East Bank Demerara.
The News Room understands that the flight was ready for takeoff at about 03:30h Friday when it was discovered that there were mechanical issues; as such the passengers and crew had to disembark.
It is unclear at this time when the flight will be rescheduled.
