Belle West youth stabbed to death by brothers over 8-month-old football grievance
Three brothers are in police custody for allegedly stabbing to death 20-year-old Emanuel Solomon of Belle West, West Bank Demerara on Friday evening in the presence of his mother and sister.
Police Headquarters in a statement disclosed that Solomon and the suspects – also of Belle West – had a misunderstanding over a football game about eight months ago.
At around 18:30h on Friday, Solomon was sitting in front of his gap when the suspects attacked and immediately began to stab him about the body. Solomon died was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital by his mother and other residents where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects escaped but police later went to their house where one of the suspects admitted to the murder and informed the cops that Solomon hit him with a piece of wood on Friday causing him to receive injuries to his face and left hand.
As a result, he went home and complained to his other two brothers who returned with him and murdered Solomon. The two other suspects were later handed over to the police by their mother.
