Taxi driver carjacked in West Ruimveldt

Police are investigating the armed robbery committed against 42-year-old taxi driver, Fazio Khan who was robbed on Friday night of his silver/grey Toyota Allion motorcar (#HD 1117) at Mandela Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

Police Headquarters in a statement noted that Khan was at the City Taxi Service base on Vlissengen Road, at around 23:20h, when one of the suspects requested a taxi to go to West Ruimveldt.

Upon arrival at the location in the vicinity of Cool Square, it is alleged that the two other suspects approached the driver’s side door, placed a gun to the victim’s head and ordered him out of the car.

Khan complied and the two suspects then joined the other suspect in the car and escaped. The three bandits also escaped with Khan’s Samsung cellphone, a radio set and driver’s licence.
