Police investigates sudden death of Reg. One toddler

Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy of Barima Kariabo, North West District, who died suddenly on Saturday last.

The News Room understands that on February 9, the infant’s mother, Nicola Campbell took him home, and at about 16:00hrs she said that the infant started experiencing a high fever.

On February 13 at about 23:00 hrs, the infant’s condition began to worsen and the mother noticed that the infant was motionless so she rushed him to the Barima Kariabo Health Centre. The child was subsequently transferred to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body is currently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
