51 new COVID cases recorded

Fifty-one new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Wednesday from 559 tests. This takes Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 8,313.

Region Four recorded 36 new cases, while Region Three recorded seven cases. Rounding out the number of new cases are Regions Seven, Six and Five with three, four and one cases respectively. No new cases were recorded in Regions One, Two, Eight, Nine and Ten.

To date, 7,519 persons have recovered and 189 have died.

There are 555 patients in home isolation, 42 patients are in institutional isolation and eight patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
