Third suspect being sought in murder of retired priest
Police have issued a wanted bulletin for a third suspect in relation to the murder of retired priest, George Chuck-A-Sang, which occurred sometime between December 21 and December 23, 2020.
Police in a statement said Orlando Orin Ormando Richards, 21, of Gibraltar Road, Corentyne Berbice is wanted in relation to the murder.
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Richards is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers: 226-6978, 225-8196, 226-2870, 226-7065, 227-1149, 226-7065, 225-6940, 911 or the nearest police station. Police assured that all information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
Meanwhile, two months after the body of was found in his St. Sidwell’s, Vlissengen Road, Georgetown house, a man and a woman were on Wednesday last charged and remanded to prison for the crime.
Rawle McPherson, 45, of Victoria, East Coast Demerara and Mohanie Mohabir, 43, of Corentyne Berbice, appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The duo denied the charge and was remanded to prison until February 25, 2021.
The News Room understands that McPherson and Mohabir were known to the priest and would often visit his home. According to reports, the priest’s body, bearing seven stab wounds, was discovered by his daughter, Renata and the current Priest, Monsell Alves.
