Off-spinner Andre McCarthy produced a magical spell of bowling to knock Barbados Pride out of championship honours in the CG Insurance Super50 Cup on Sunday in Antigua.

A win for either team would secure the final semi-final spot, and it was the Scorpions who remain in the hunt for the title after a remarkable game at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.

Chasing 218, Pride were on course for victory at 118-1 in the 22nd over before a huge collapse saw them being bowled out for 167 in the 42nd over.

McCarthy was at his miserly best, claiming 6-16 off 9.1 overs, including a hat-trick, as Pride lost nine wickets for 49 runs.

Left-arm spinner Fabian Allen offered solid support with 2-41.

Only the Pride top four got going with Shai Hope making 51, Justin Greaves 36, Shamarh Brooks 27 and Jonathon Carter 26.
