Guyana on Wednesday recorded only five new COVID-19 cases from a total of 827 tests; the new cases were all recorded in Region Four.
This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to 8, 457 since Guyana recorded its first case in March 2020.
Three COVID-19 deaths were reported between Tuesday and Wednesday, taking the death toll to 193. An additional 34 recoveries were also recorded, taking the total number of recoveries to 7, 834.
There are 387 patients in home isolation, 37 are in institutional isolation and seven patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
