31 new COVID cases as recoveries surpass 8,000

Guyana on Tuesday recorded 31 new COVID-19 cases from 703 tests. This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to 8, 626.  To date, 8, 024 persons have recovered.

A total of 18 new cases were recorded in Region Four, Region Three recorded nine new cases while Regions Five and Seven recorded one new case each and Region Nine recorded two new cases.

The Ministry of Health earlier recorded the country’s 198^th COVID-19 death.

There are 371 patients in home isolation, 28 patients are in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
