Security Guard robbed of gun, ammo

Security guard, Benson Jarvis was on Tuesday robbed while performing duties at the A- Chang Supermarket at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara between  22:00hrs to 22:10hrs.

According to a police report, he was relieved of one .32 Taurus Pistol with 12 live .32 rounds; it carries a total value of $245,000.

He was also robbed of a cell phone valued at $ $23,000. The act was allegedly committed by two unidentifiable males – one armed with a handgun.

Jarvis alleges that while on duty at the supermarket, he was approached by two unidentifiable men on a motorcycle; the pillion rider who was armed with a handgun pointed it towards Jarvis and relieved him of the items. The suspects then escaped.
