Fowler and Seaton Jr. to represent Guyana at South American Championships

National Swimmers and Olympic hopefuls, Andrew Fowler and Leon Seaton Jr., will represent Guyana at the CONSANAT South American Championships, slated to commence on Monday (March 15), in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Fowler and coach Jamie Skeete departed Guyana on Friday after which they will be joined by Seaton Jr., who is in Miami.

Seaton Jr. is currently on a five-month FINA scholarship in Florida, while Fowler recently returned from his overseas training stint.

Both athletes will be competing in the 50M and 100M Freestyle as well as the 50M Butterfly events at the championships, which will run from March 14-29.

According to a press release from the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA), female national swimmer Jamila Sanmoogan was unfortunately unable to make this event, but continues her preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.

Skeete will perform the duties as coach and delegate representative for the Guyana contingent and will also be representing GASA at the CONSANAT Congress. Dwayne Scott, the current president of GASA, will be joining the congress Virtually.

The Association expressed its sincere appreciation to the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., and the Guyana Olympic Association for their support towards the athletes in the lead-up to these events and for affording their participation at these Championships.
