Guyana on Saturday recorded 52 new cases of COVID-19 from 793 tests, taking the country’s overall confirmed cases to 9,121, since the first case was recorded here in March 2020.
Region Four recorded 28 cases while Region Three recorded 12 new cases; Regions One, Six, and 10 recorded one new case each. Region five recorded five new cases and Region Seven recorded four new cases.
There are 32 persons in institutional isolation; 591 are in home isolation and eight are in institutional quarantine while five persons are being kept at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the National Infectious Diseases Hospital at Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.
The death toll remains at 206 and thus far, 8,287 persons have recovered.
