27 new COVID-19 cases from 509 tests

The Ministry of Health reported on Monday, that Guyana recorded a total of 27 new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall cases to 9,187.

A total of 509 tests were conducted and positive COVID-19 results came three of the ten Administrative Regions.

Region Four recorded a majority of these cases with 13 persons testing positive, 10 from Region Ten and only four from Region Three.

To date, 8,311 persons have recovered, with Guyana’s total number of death toll standing at 208, the latest fatality is an 89-year-old female from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) who died while receiving care at a medical facility.

There are 624 patients in home isolation, 37 patients are in institutional isolation and eight patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
