Guyana on Tuesday recorded 51 new COVID-19 cases from a total of 1, 012 tests. This takes the total number of confirmed cases to date to 9, 238.
Region Four accounted for majority of the new cases with 30, while Region Three recorded 11 new cases, Region Six recorded six new cases and Region Ten recorded four new cases.
There are seven patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital; 38 patients are in institutional isolation and 626 patients are in home isolation.
To date, 209 persons have died from the dreaded virus and 8, 359 have recovered.
