Woman, 66, dies from COVID-19

A 66-year-old woman has died as a result of COVID-19, taking the country’s death toll to 209 since the pandemic began.

The woman, from Region Four, was hospitalised and died will receiving care, the Ministry of Health stated. This is the 12th person to have died this month.

All Guyanese are reminded to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.15), which are in effect until March 31, 2021. This order emphasises:

  • The need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home
  • The importance of maintaining the six feet physical distance from others
  • And the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19
