Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 15-month-old Sahara La Cruz.
According to a police report, the baby girl of Cabora Village, Moruca, Region One died during the wee hours of Tuesday after experiencing a seizure.
The child lived with her mother, who told police that she was awakened by the baby’s cries at about 03:30h. The mother said she attempted to breastfeed her but the baby refused.
Soon after, the baby began experiencing convulsions and subsequently went into an unconscious state.
The matter was later reported to the Acquero Police Station. A post mortem examination will be done shortly.
