120 new COVID-19 cases from over 1000 tests

A total of 120 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Thursday from 1, 107 tests, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 9, 442.

Seven regions recorded new cases, with Region Four recording the majority of cases with 77 new infections. Region Three and Region Seven were the only other regions to record double digits with 11 new infections in Region Three and 17 new infections in Region Seven.

Region Five is up eight new cases with Regions Two recording one new case. Regions Six recorded three new cases and Region Ten, two new cases.

To date, 8,430 persons have recovered with Guyana’s total number of deaths standing at 212.

There are 747 patients in home isolation, 46 patients are in institutional isolation and seven patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
