Two men who are both 66-years old and both from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) died on Thursday while receiving care for COVID-19 at a medical facility.
This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 212. These two deaths also mean that a total of 15 persons died from COVID-19 for March 2021.
On Wednesday, a 42-year-old male from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) died while on Tuesday, a 66-year-old woman from Region Four also died while receiving care.
A total of 84 new COVID-19 cases were also recorded on Wednesday from 881 tests, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 9,322.
