Points leaders Jai Hind Jaguars recorded a second consecutive win on Friday when Round Two of the Big Man Cricket Over-45 tournament commenced at the Enmore Community Centre ground, East Coast Demerara.
Batting first in the 25-over match, Jai Hind Jaguars posted an imposing 211-7, to which Timothy Motorcycle Masters responded with 164-8.
Jai Hind Jaguars got solid contributions right through the innings, as Permaul Mangali topscored with 48 (27b; 5x4s; 2x6s), Hassan Hussain scored 47 (52b; 3x4s; 1×6), John Percival 35 (15b; 4x4s; 2x6s), Subramani Mangali 29 (20b; 5x4s; 1×6) and Kamraj Sumair 27 (24b; 3x4s).
Extras were a healthy 20, as Dubraj Singh took 3-25, Peter Persaud 2-45, Basil Persaud 1-31 and Glendon Fredericks 1-34.
In response, Timothy Motorcycle Masters were led by Cylous Gibson with 50 (51b; 6x4s), Nirmaldeo Sarwan 27 (15b; 3x4s; 1×6), Peter Persaud 22* (17b; 3x4s) and Mark Ferreira 20 (17b; 2x4s; 1×6).
Bowling for Jai Hind Jaguars, Percival took 2-20, Permaul Mangali 2-26, Deoprakash Ramdat 1-17, Hassan Hussain 1-27 and Veerapen Moonsammy 1-44.
Permaul Mangali was named Man-of-the-Match in the 47-run victory.
