No arrests in Sunday night execution of gold dealer

The Police have so far made no arrests in the execution of gold dealer Ricardo Fagundes, called ‘Paper shorts’ of Kitty, Georgetown.

Fagundes was shot dead just after 21:00h on Main and Middle Streets, Georgetown.

Police headquarters said Fagundes was drinking “with a known colleague” when he received a call on his cell phone.

As he exited the night spot, Police said several “loud explosions” suspected to be gunshots were heard.

“The victim was seen lying motionless on the road, on his back in a pool of blood, with several of what appeared to be gunshot injuries about his body and several spent shells were found at the scene,” Police said in a statement.

Fagundes was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor attached to the EMT Ambulance Services of the Stabroek Fire Station.

Police are continuing their investigations.
