More COVID deaths: Elderly man dies at home, woman dies at hospital

Two more persons who tested positive for COVID-19, died on Monday, taking the country’s death toll to 218.

The Ministry of Health on Tuesday revealed that a 74-year-old woman from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) died while receiving care at a medical facility, while an 82-year-old man from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) died at his home.

The man was then transported to a medical facility where he was swabbed for the virus and the results came back positive.  The latest fatalities also take the total number of deaths for the month thus far to 19.
