88 new COVID cases from over 1,000 tests

A total of 88 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Wednesday from 1, 118 tests, taking the country’s overall number of known cases to 9, 820.

Region Four accounted for the majority of the new cases with 49; this was followed by Region Seven with 18 new cases and Region Three with 13 new cases. Region Ten recorded six new cases and Regions Five and Six recorded one new case each.

The sixth COVID-19 death for the week was recorded on Wednesday, taking the overall death toll to 221.

There are now 12 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 56 patients are in institutional isolation and 900 patients are in home isolation. Thus far, a total of 84,486 persons have recovered since March 2020.
