A Lower Pomeroon River, Region Two, housewife is now hospitalised in a critical condition after she was severely chopped about her body by her reputed husband. Police in a statement said the husband is in police custody.
According to the statement, the woman lost several fingers and was also chopped to the head and other parts of her body. Police said the husband also set fire to their house early on Thursday after attacking the woman.
Investigations are ongoing.
