Guyana on Friday recorded a total of 109 new COVID-19 cases from a total of 1, 208 tests, taking the overall number for positive cases recorded in the country since March 2020 to 10, 007.
Region Four recorded 60 new cases while Region Three recorded 30 new cases. The other cases were recorded in Region Six with six new cases, Region Five recorded three new cases, Region Seven accounted for four new cases and Region Ten recorded two new cases.
A total of 10 COVID deaths were recorded for the week, taking the overall death toll to 225, while total recoveries to date is 8, 801.
There are 11 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 57 patients are in institutional isolation and 913 patients are in home isolation.
