Knives, improvised weapons, among items seized during prison search

Joint Services ranks between 06:33 hrs and 10:00 hrs on Saturday conducted a search at the Georgetown ‘B’ Holding Bay located in the Lusignan Prison compound, East Coast Demerara.

During the prison search, the following items were found:

Improvised weapons

* 26 Knives

* 44 ‘juka’

* 19 Lighters

* 6 Scissors

* 12 Cell phones

*  2 SIM cards

* 2 memory cards

* 5 razor blades

* Quantity of cell phone parts

* 10 cell phone chargers

* A quantity of metal objects

* A quantity of wires

* 83 small transparent zip-lock bags of suspected cannabis amounting to 20 grams.
