71 new COVID cases; 987 in isolation, 13 in ICU
A COVID-19 test being done in the National Public Health Reference Laboratory
A total of 71 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Friday from 895 tests, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 10, 446.
Leading the new cases is Region Four with 32. Region Three also recorded a high amount of new infections with 23.
Regions Two and Nine recorded one case each while Region Five, Six and Ten recorded three, two and nine cases respectively.
The other Regions recorded no new cases.
To date, 9,211 persons have recovered with Guyana’s total number of deaths standing at 237.
There are 916 patients in home isolation, 71 patients are in institutional isolation and 13 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
