Businessman robbed of $400k gold chain, phones in Albouystown

Businessman, Sean Seales, of Calendar Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, was robbed of valuables amounting to almost $500,000 while sitting in front of his business place on Thursday night in Albouystown.

The 54-year-old man, according to a police report, was approached by two men known to him, one armed with a black handgun.

He was held at gunpoint and relieved of a 40 penny-weight gold chain valued $400,000, two cellular phones valued $48,000 and $24,000 in cash.

Police said one of the perpetrators entered Seales’ shop and, on his way out, he snatched the gold chain from around the businesswoman’s neck.

Seales attempted to open a pepper spray when the armed preparator took out a gun and pointed it at him, while the accomplice continued to relieve him of his two cell phones.

The perpetrators then made good their escape on foot along Calendar Street, Albouystown.

Investigations are in progress.
