The body of 97-year-old Inda Matthews was on Thursday fished out of a creek at Kariko Village, North West District.
Police said the woman’s body was found floating in the waterway in an advanced state of decomposition.
The body was found by the Toshao, Lynbert Henry, at around 16:30 hrs, a few hours after a formal missing person report was made to the police.
The body was later identified by a relative to be that of Idna Matthews. The discovery was reported to the Acquero Police Station.
Police said that due to the decomposed state of the body and the terrain, relatives were advised to bury the woman immediately plans to have an exhumation done for a Post Mortem Examination.
