The Big Man Cricket (BMC) Committee has postponed all of its scheduled matches for this weekend, as a mark of respect to the family and friends of Treasurer of the Guyana Cricket Board, Pretipaul Jaigobin, and former President of the Guyana Cricket Board, Fizul Bacchus, whose wife passed away this week.

Below is a statement issued by the Committee

The BMC Committee would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of recently appointed Treasurer of the Guyana Cricket Board, Pretipaul Jaigobin, on his sudden and unfortunate departure from our world and the cricketing fraternity.

Jai was always well known for his deep love and knowledge for the game and the entire fraternity will miss his vast experience and knowledge of the game.

Sincerest condolences are also extended to Mr. Fizul Bacchus, former President of the Guyana Cricket Board and current President of the Essequibo Cricket Board, his family, relatives, and friends on the untimely demise of his spouse a few days ago also.

BMC wishes to join with the close families of these two cricket administrators in their greatest hour of need and grief and expresses the hope that they should be able to overcome their respective griefs as speedily as possible.

In deference to this somber environment, the BMC Committee has decided to postpone any thoughts of cricket being played this weekend to facilitate the cricketing fraternity to mourn the abrupt demise of and for these two administrators.

BMC wishes all and sundry and safe, happy and enjoyable Easter weekend and wishes to advise that BMC cricket will resume on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
