81 new COVID-19 cases 

Guyana on Wednesday recorded 81 new COVID-19 cases from 600 tests, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 10,718.

Leading the new cases is Region Four with 40 cases, followed by Region Six, which recorded 20 new infections; Regions Seven and Three recorded 13 and seven new cases each, while Region Five recorded one new case.  No new cases were recorded in the other regions.

To date, 9,473 persons have recovered with Guyana’s total number of deaths standing at 250.

There are 916 patients in home isolation, 70 patients are in institutional isolation and nine patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
