Prison Service explains early release of convict Rondell ‘Killa’ Bacchus

See below full statement issued by the Guyana Prison Service in relation to Rondell Bacchus, who is in custody in connection with the murder of Ricardo ‘Paper Shorts’ Fagundes:

The Guyana Prison Service wishes to state that Ex-Convicted Prisoner Rondell Bacchus was admitted to prison on August 15, 2008, for the offence of Murder, Robbery under Arms, Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunitions.

On September 16, 2009, he was committed to stand trial at Demerara, High Court. On April 2, 2019 prisoner Bacchus attended the Demerara, High Court where he pleaded guilty to the lesser count of Manslaughter and was sentenced to Sixteen (16) years, Eight (8) months imprisonment.

In addition, he was further sentenced to three (3) years for the Robbery under Arms, One (1) year for the Possession of a Firearm and One (1) year for the Possession of Ammunition.

Please note that the sentences were concurrent and it commenced from the admission date which is August 15, 2008 (time spent on remand was deducted).

Ex-Prisoner Bacchus was discharged from prison on October 3, 2019.
