105 new COVID-19 cases recorded as Guyana nears 11,000 cases

Guyana on Friday recorded 105 new COVID-19 cases from 780 tests conducted, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 10,958.

Leading the new cases is Region Four with 46 cases, closely followed by Region Three which recorded 36 new infections; Region Ten recorded 10 new cases with Region Five recording five new cases.

Regions Six and Seven recorded four new cases each. No new cases were recorded in the other regions.

To date, 9,576 persons have recovered with Guyana’s total number of deaths standing at 252.

There are 1,059 patients in home isolation, 71 patients are in institutional isolation and 13 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
