Crandon in for Tappin in national Basketball team
Centre Akeem Crandon has replaced Point Guard Yonnick Tappin in Guyana’s senior national Men’s basketball team to compete in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Pre-Qualifiers in San Salvador, El Salvador.
According to the Guyana Basketball Federation, Tappin “has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.”
2018 CBC MVP Stanton Rose will captain the team with support from co-captain and 2019 BCL and Intercontinental Champion, Delroy James.
The lone naturalised player Deylon Bovell from Berkley College will make his debut.
The accompanying delegation will include:

Team Guyana will begin their campaign against Nicaragua on Thursday, April 15, 2021.
