Guyana on Monday recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases from 397 tests, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 11,189.
Half of the regions recorded new cases with Region Four registering 17 cases, closely followed by Region Three which recorded 12 new infections. Regions Six and Five recorded six and four cases, respectively, with Region One recording one case. No new cases were recorded in the other regions.
To date, 9,751 persons have recovered with Guyana’s total number of deaths standing at 257.
There are 1,090 patients in home isolation, 74 patients are in institutional isolation and 17 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
