38 new COVID-19 cases, 13 in ICU

Guyana on Monday recorded 38 new COVID-19 cases from 233 tests, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 11,901.

Six regions recorded new cases with Region Six leading the new infections with 14 cases, followed by Region Three with ten cases and Region Four with seven cases; Regions Five recorded three new cases with Regions One and Ten recording two new cases each. No new cases were recorded in the other regions.

To date, 10,246 persons have recovered with Guyana’s total number of deaths standing at 271.

There are 1,294 patients in home isolation, 77 patients are in institutional isolation and 13 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
