71 new COVID-19 cases; more than 50% of new infections in Reg. 4

The Ministry of Health on Tuesday recorded 71 new COVID-19 cases from 676 tests, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 11,972.

Six regions recorded new cases. The majority of new infections were recorded in Region Four with 47 new cases. New infections recorded in the remaining Regions were as follows: Region Ten – eight new cases; Region Nine – six new cases; Region Three – five new cases; Region Six – three new cases and Region Two – two new cases.

To date, 10,297 persons have recovered. The total number of deaths stands at 273.

There are 1,315 patients in home isolation, 73 patients in institutional isolation and 13 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
