    Albion CCCC to host second vaccination drive this weekend

    Following on the heels of a successful vaccination drive in early April when 421 persons received the jab, the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) will host another this Saturday (April 24), targeting persons 18 years and older.

    Patron of the Club, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, who is Advisor to the Ministry of Health, has been a leading figure in the country’s efforts to get persons vaccinated.

    Earlier this week, he met with captains/managers of local cricket clubs, businesspersons, religious leaders, head teachers, teachers and NDC officials within the Number One Road/Clifton area at the Albion Community Centre’s Main Hall to discuss the Ministry’s partnership with the Club for the upcoming vaccination drive.

    Saturday’s activity will be held at the Albion Community Centre, commencing at 08:30h. ACCCC Secretary Omarnauth Outar can be contacted on +592-626-3091 for more details.

    Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health on Tuesday reported that two more persons, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus have died, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic since March 2020 to 273.

    On Monday, Guyana recorded 38 new COVID-19 cases from 233 tests, taking the country’s overall number of confirmed cases to 11,901.
