Another person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 274.
The latest fatality is a 52-year-old female from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) who died while receiving care at a medical facility on April 20.
The latest deaths mean that more persons have died in April than those who died in March 2021 from the virus. The death toll for April thus far is 41.
In March 2021, a total of 36 patients died while in October 2020, 44 persons died making it the deadliest month for COVID-19 to date.
