Two more COVID-19 deaths; 43 now dead in April
Two more persons who tested positive for COVID-19 died on Wednesday, taking the country’s death toll since March 2020 to 276.
The latest fatalities are two males, a 42-year-old from Region 6 (East Berbice- Corentyne) and a 70-year- old from Region 5 (Mahaica-Berbice).
They both died while receiving care at a medical facility. This takes the death toll for April to 43, making it one of the deadliest months for COVID-19 here since the pandemic hit these shores.
In March 2021, a total of 36 patients died while in October 2020, 44 persons succumbed to the disease.
