QC boys top CSEC, CAPE

Bhedesh Persaud and Zane Ramotar, both students from Queen’s College (QC), have topped the 2020 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examinations and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE), respectively.

Persaud scored 22 grade ones and one grade two. The other top performers for CSEC include:

  1. Duvina Seurattan from the Anna Regina Secondary School who scored 19 grade ones and two grade twos
  2. Swasti Saytoo from the Anna Regina Secondary School who scored 18 grade one and three grade twos
  3. Geveshwar Rajkishore from the Saraswati Vidya Nikitan School who scored 18 grade ones and one grade two
  4. Reyan Khemraj from the JC Chandisingh Secondary School who scored 17 grade ones and three grade twos
  5. Shivnarine Chaitraim from the Saraswati Vidya Nikitan school who scored 17 grade ones and two grade twos
  6. Shivshankar Chaitram from the Saraswati Vidya Nikitan school who scored 17 grade ones and two grade twos
  7. Atishta Seenarine from the Saraswati Vidya Nikitan school who scored 17 grade ones and one grade two
  8. Chaitra Singh from the Saraswati Vidya Nikitan who scored 16 grade ones and three grade twos
  9. Tabitha Alves from the Abrams’ Zuil Secondary School who scored 16 grade ones and four grade twos

Meanwhile, for CAPE, the other two top performers who followed Ramotar are:

  1. Naomi Cambridge – St Rose’s High – 12 grade ones, two grade twos
  2. Christian Pile – Queen’s College – 11 grade ones, one grade two

At a short press conference on Friday afternoon, Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, noted that some reviews are still outstanding from the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) and as such, the Education Ministry could not yet release the names of the students who received 12 grade ones or more, as is customary.
