Police find .32 pistol in man’s crotch during raid in Charlestown
A 29-year-old male of North East La Penitence, Georgetown was arrested on Friday and will now face charges related to the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
A statement from the police noted that at about 20:00 hrs on Friday, a party of police was on a raid exercise at Evans Street, Charlestown when the man was observed acting in a suspicious manner.
He was approached by ranks and searched when one .32 pistol with # FFY49171 was found concealed in the crotch of his pants.
The firearm had five (5) .32 live rounds of ammunition in the magazine. He was told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested, and taken to Brickdam Police Station.
The firearm and ammunition were marked and sealed in his presence at the police station.
Investigations are ongoing.
