Knife-wielding bandits rob driver at Ogle sea wall

Police are on the hunt for two male suspects who reportedly relieved a minibus driver of his cellphone and cash as he was picking up passengers from the Ogle seawall, East Coast Demerara.

Reports are that the incident occurred on Saturday at around 22:30 hrs.

The bus driver, Garsran Ramdat, told police that he was on the sea wall to collect passengers who were returning from sea.

Ramdat relayed that upon arrival, he parked his vehicle and exited, awaiting the arrival of his passengers.

The two suspects then approached him; one held him at knife-point and demanded that he hand over his valuables, which he did.

According to the police report, the suspects relieved him of one Samsung S10 cellular phone valued $90,000; $71,000 in cash and his bus keys.

His vehicle was ransacked but nothing was removed.

The suspects then escaped on bicycles.
Investigations are ongoing.
