Prominent malariologist Dr Lloyd Validum dies
Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony has expressed condolences to the family and friends of Dr Lloyd William Validum who died on Sunday.
Dr Validum was 61 and died at his residence in Kitty, Georgetown.
The Ministry of Health noted that Dr Validum was one of Guyana’s prominent Malariologist and once served as the Director of the National Malaria Control Programme under the Ministry of Health.
“We will always be thankful for the excellent service he gave the health sector and he will certainly be missed.
“His contribution was substantive and his legacy will be remembered,” the Ministry of Health stated.
Dr Validum was married to Mrs. Cecelia Validum for 32 years. They had three children together, namely, Daryl Validum, Dr Dwayne Validum, and Dr Damian Validum.
