Narayan Ramdhani bows out of Pan Am Championship
National senior player Narayan Ramdhani bowed out of the XXIV Pan Am Individual Championship, losing to fifth seed Lino Munoz of Mexico in straight sets in Guatemala.
The top Guyanese player lost 16-21, 15-21 in the Round of 16, ending his participation in the Olympic qualifying event.
Ramdhani had earlier won his Round of 32 game against Shae Martin of Barbados 21-18, 21-12 after gaining a bye in the Round of 64.
His sister Priyanna, playing in the Ladies Singles, lost in two sets to the experienced Nairoby Abigail of the Dominican Republic 21-8, 21-12.
The siblings then teamed up in the Mixed Doubles, but lost to Antonio Emanuel Ortiz and Alejandra Jose Paiz Quan of Guatemala 21-13, 21-13.
Priyanna was hunting South American Youth Games qualification points.
