Police are on the hunt for a man who beat and stabbed his ex-girlfriend at her Fort Ordnance Housing Scheme East Canje, Berbice house on Sunday night.
Police Headquarters in a statement noted that 28-year-old Shanaz Mohamed is hospitalised with several stab wounds to her face, neck, the back of her head and her right hand. She is said to be in a stable condition.
Police said that the man visited the victim’s house between 20:30hrs and 21:00hrs; he grabbed her hair and inflicted the wounds with a knife.
The victim was rushed to the hospital by neighbours and the suspect escaped.
